Bitty & Beau's Coffee

""More than a cup of coffee" is painted on the side of Bitty & Beau's, and that quote absolutely rings true. If you go online to their website, you will see their story: "Bitty & Beau's Coffee is a human rights movement disguised as a coffee shop, where people with intellectual & developmental disabilities are valued in the workplace. It's a place where diversity isn't just appreciated, it's celebrated." Besides the amazing story, the coffee is actually VERY good, and there's plenty on the menu to choose from. The cafe seating is plentiful. I saw families, students studying, individuals working, and even an interview going on. It's a comfortable and welcoming vibe, but it's also clean and hip. Some neat things they offer: There are flavor add-ins like hazelnut, toasted marshmallow, etc you can add to your order to enhance your flavor experience. There is a really neat pushpin map of the world towards the back of the shop, and if they have pins available you can place one in the location of your home town. There are already hundreds if not thousands of pins in the map. Lastly, when you order you are given a Bitty & Beaus branded playing card, and the baristas will call out your card number when your order is ready. Some tips: The main tip I would add is please be patient. The workers are professional and kind individuals, and they deserve kindness, patience, and respect. I have been here many times, and I've always had an incredible experience. If you get a chance, please support this coffee shop. I would love to see more of them pop up. Cheers!!"

"We stumbled upon this coffee shop when we were in Houston for a graduation. We were touched by their inspiration and makes you want to believe that the world will be a better and more inclusive place! Our coffees were great and so was the service! It was a takeout order, but the atmosphere and the vibe was very welcoming and warm. We’d come back here in a heartbeat, if we’re in the area."
